Come experience the history and romance of Southern Louisiana life on the spicy side as we tour Cajun Country; re-discover the sights and sounds of New Orleans and drive through the heart of Southern Plantation Country. Three nights in New Orleans including the WWII Museum and stops at two world class gaming casinos.
DAY 1 – Depart for Kinder, Louisiana with a mid afternoon arrival. Shuttle service is provided to the casino for all you lucky – or unlucky – gamblers. Overnight in Kinder.
DAY 2 – Mid morning departure into the heart of Cajun Country for New Iberia, a city seasoned with famous factories, historic homes and lush gardens. Tour the famous MCILHENNY CO producing Tabasco hot sauce. Arrive into the Big Easy where we stay for the next three nights in New Orleans. You will enjoy the Kick Back – 3 beverages of your choice with hor d’oerves – always offered complimentary. Laissez les bons temps rouler “Let the good times roll”. Overnight in New Orleans. DAY 3 – After an included breakfast in this sensuous city steeped in history, tradition, superstition and romance, a step-on guide will give us an included three hour city tour including the historic French Quarter, the elegant Garden District and a visit to the above ground cemetery. Travel along the route of the St. Charles trolley. Around noon, you will be at the French Market. Lunch on your own with afternoon and evening free to explore and enjoy New Orleans. DAY 4 – On our second morning, our after breakfast visit is to the Mardi Gras World. See the carnival dens and some of the elaborate floats and costumes from years past. Plus a visit to the World War II Museum including the movie, Beyond All Boundaries. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. Overnight in New Orleans. BB, Kick Back
DAY 5 – Leave the “Big Easy” and meander the Great River Road touring a Louisiana Plantation, for a taste of history and the old south. Laura Plantation details 200 years of real life stories of owners, women, slaves and children of this sugar plantation. Built in 1805 this farmstead still surrounded by sugarcane, stands with 12 historic buildings, gardens and slave quarters. Continuing on the River Road and crossing the Mississippi River we will be stopping for lunch at “The Cabin.” The Cabin restaurant is said to be unique as it is “housed” in one of ten original slave dwellings of the Monroe Plantation. Continue to Lake Charles. Overnight in Lake Charles. BB, L
DAY 6 – Today, return to the Valley with our casino riches and colorful historic memories of Southern Louisiana.
